What actually happens to the executable?

AnyPS5 uses a Relinker to transform a clean PS5 ELF executable into a native Windows PE or Linux ELF program. Its host-side system libraries replace the console's expected library interfaces. The resulting program runs as an ordinary host process rather than inside a separate emulator process. This is why the output format and matching PRX host libraries matter. AnyPS5 architecture ↗

KytyPS5 describes itself as a C++ PlayStation 5 emulator based on a heavily modified Kyty codebase. It runs the title through an emulator rather than requiring AnyPS5's conversion workflow. KytyPS5 is a separate project from AnyPS5 and the original InoriRus/Kyty repository. KytyPS5 repository ↗

How to read compatibility claims

For AnyPS5, the upstream official compatibility table identifies Dreaming Sarah as Playable on Windows. Other results can reach gameplay without receiving that label. For example, Astro Bot has experimental Windows gameplay reports involving performance problems and freezes. A result on a contributor branch does not show that a standard tagged release reaches the same stage.

KytyPS5 documents 2D game booting and selected 3D tests in its own repository. Those claims must be evaluated using its exact emulator build and game-specific reports; they are not transferable to AnyPS5.

Which project fits your goal?

Want to convert a lawfully obtained PS5 executable into a Windows/Linux native program?

Study the AnyPS5 Relinker workflow and check game-specific test results before investing time in a particular title.

Want to investigate the emulator route instead?

Read KytyPS5's own build, system requirements and compatibility notes. AnyPS5 Relinker flags cannot be applied to the KytyPS5 emulator.
